Original West Coast Treasures
Keeping Afloat works with found objects. A precious glass fishing float found on a beach or plucked from the ocean is broken then put back together using stained glass techniques. Shells, stones and bull kelp add to the design. Left over pieces of float glass are tumbled in beach sand and sea water then worked into beautiful pieces of jewellery. Discarded vintage silver plated cutlery found in attics and thrift shops are cut, pounded, polished till they become earrings and necklaces. Check out the Gallery for photos of the transformation and contact Keeping Afloat for more information.
